It has been quite a season so far. We have made every trip count this year and have really "filled the boat" with quality fish. As summer winds down, I am already getting excited about what is ahead. Late Summer/early Fall is undoubtedly my favorite time of year to fish. The bite is always on and you don't have to fight the summer crowds and hoards of boats in the Destin Pass. I am taking early reservations for the second week in October (9th -16th) for those who are interested in participating in the annual Destin Fishing Rodeo (rates are the same). This is perhaps the best time of year to fish - the humidity has left and the water temp hovers around 80 degrees. This means all Pelagic fish are still running as well as your typical bottom dwellers. If you have never been to the Destin Fishing Rodeo, I would strongly encourage you to make an appearance; even if you do not intend to fish. There are thousands of people who gather around the docks daily to watch the catch brought in. Saturdays in October are known as "Shark Saturdays" as this is when all the big sharks are brought in and weighed. There are daily prizes, live bands, free food and a nice fall breeze off the Gulf. The tournament is EVERY DAY for the month of October and is truly worth a visit. So, if you want to participate in the Rodeo or if you are interested in fishing any other time of the year, give me a call or fill out the "Contact Us" tab on the bottom of the homepage - we will make sure your fishing experience is a memorable one! Tight Lines!
