For everyone that lives below the Mason Dixon line, we are all very aware that Old Man Winter just never showed up this year. Well, for us fishermen that was a good thing! That means, the water never really had a chance to cool down like normal so the bite remained very strong all "Winter" long. As a result of the unseasonably warm weather, we have had early Cobia sightings and the Spanish mackerel have showed up in hoards out of nowhere (at least the small ones have anyway.) I would venture to say that the first Cobia will be caught by the end of this week or by early next week. The SE winds are really going to lay down the seas for a much deserved break in the swell for us smaller boats to get out there and try our luck in the Gulf.

Over the past several days, the Bay bite continues to be strong on the incoming tide. Sheepshead have been stacking up around rocks and pilings as well as slot Redfish. We want to invite everyone out this Spring for a great day of fishing. Please give us a call if you have ANY questions regarding fishing in Destin or if you would like to charter a boat!

 Tight Lines,

Capt. Preston
