Welcome Winter Guests!

November 10, 2012
A lot of misconceptions here on the Gulf is that once Summer is over, the fishing is too; when in actuality, its just the opposite. The fishery in Destin receives relentless pressure during the summer months and as a result, your "go to honey hole" in the Spring may not be as productive in the Summer due to many fishermen with the same idea. So, when the Summer pressure has lifted, the fish seem to become more and more hungry and those "honey holes' start producing more and more quality fish!...

September 2012

September 24, 2012
Wow, the waters have been teaming with action, especially the Gulf! Hurricane Issac wasn't all bad for us. In fact, it scattered lots of debris (logs, branches, foliage etc.) in the gulf and that has been the perfect attractant for Triple Tail and Mahi-Mahi. The weather/seas have been perfect so far - nice cool mornings and warm afternoons. Pair that with the great action and you have a recipe for a whole lot of CATCHING! We still have availability for the best month out of the year; October!...

Summer 2012 Update

July 1, 2012
The 2012 Destin Fishing season is in full swing. With LOTS of Snapper and Grouper being caught within ten miles of the beach, customers have been having a blast! The Gulf bite continues to remain strong with a 2nd round of Cobia showing up; putting the total Cobia caught with Gulf-Angler fishing charters this summer at 22. Bay fishing is also been great with slot redfish being caught around the flats and docks and big trout being landed around bridges and pilings. Gulf-Angler fishing charters...

Spring Has Sprung!

March 13, 2012
For everyone that lives below the Mason Dixon line, we are all very aware that Old Man Winter just never showed up this year. Well, for us fishermen that was a good thing! That means, the water never really had a chance to cool down like normal so the bite remained very strong all "Winter" long. As a result of the unseasonably warm weather, we have had early Cobia sightings and the Spanish mackerel have showed up in hoards out of nowhere (at least the small ones have anyway.) I would venture ...

Feb. 14th 2012

February 15, 2012
Set out for another Bay trip today and I have to say it was another successful trip! Fished some familiar areas as well as a couple new spots. Despite the 24 hour cold snap, the water continues to hover around 60 degrees. Today was mostly cloudy and winds were around 10-15 knots. We caught Sheepshead, Redfish and a pretty uncommon (for Destin) Black Sea Bass. Live Shrimp was the bait of choice for today and they proved deadly around the jetties and Destin Bridge. Pictures to come in the Troph...

1-29-12 Night Fishing

January 30, 2012
Dave, Marshall and I set out at 5pm for some night fishing in the Bay. There was a falling tide all evening so naturally the bite was on. Immediately, Marshal was locked in to a nice fish but it broke off boat-side before we could catch a glimpse. Next it was me who got hooked up. The battle was on with my light tackle outfit. The fish made several fast breaks toward deeper water, taking line with him. I fought him for 3 or 4 minutes on my Tierra until I finally had him in the boat.A nice  28...

Bro-Heem 10/17/11

October 18, 2011
WOW what a week! My brother Chandler came to town to spend the week doing some cut throat fishing with me and friend, Mike Milano. We fished for several days; covering lots of real estate and harvesting quality fish! Chandler gets the "Saltiest Dog" trophy for the week as he hauled in the most Grouper and AJ's during our time on the water (congrats man)! The weather was truly PERFECT and allowed us to run 30 miles to 300 foot of water in my center console. In fact, the first day it was so fla...
