"After work" fishing trips are always a nice way to end the day and can be a great way to fish that always productive late afternoon spike in the fishing forecast. Mike had the day off and headed to the beach before us to get a jump start on the late afternoon trip while Dave and myself put in a full day's work at our real job and then headed out to meet up! Clouds and a nice breeze made for a much deserved lull in the Florida summer heat; it was enjoyable to say the least! We made our way out to one of the local reefs in Destin to find Mike with two fish already in the bag; a nice King Mackerel and a keeper Red Snapper (nice work again)! We decided to try and cash in on the King Mackerel bite by trolling three different styles of lures and bait. In no time, Dave and I were bowed up. To our suprise though, they were'nt kings! I landed a sanbar shark that put up a good fight for his size and minutes later Dave hauled in an identical catch! This was Daves first shark and made for a fun and memorable experience. All in all, Mike once again comes out on top with the two nicest fish of the day! Great work guys-can't wait till the next kayak fishing trip! Tight Lines!
