Water temp - 77 degrees
Wave Height - 2 to 3 feet
Weather - Partly Cloudy/ High 85
Location - 15 miles South of Destin
Launch time - 5:45AM

Dave and Ioaded up on bait in the pass and headed out on the beautiful Emerald Coast. We fished for 11 hours and caught our fair share of fish. Once again the conditions were ideal for offshore fishing. Here are the totals:


(1) Cobia (got off boat-side - see video)
(20+) Snapper
(1) Gag Grouper
Several Small Trigger-Fish

Bowed Up...

Dave and I set out for an all day, offshore fishing trip on the Sea Hunt. 5:15 came early and before we knew it , we were in the pass catching bait. Once again, beautiful thread fin herring were in the hundreds of thousands. Boats were all bunched together collecting their loot as we joined in to catch ours. We caught 40 or 50 and headed out. By the way, it was CALM as ever. We were able to run wide open the whole way out to the 14 mile location. Lots of action on top. Bait and Jacks tore up ...

JACK ATTACK

Mike Milano (Kyagra to many) chartered my boat out for Tuesday. He showed up to the docks with a plethora of rods and reels; something for every type of fishing. One in particular caught my eye. It was a winch of a reel - older model Penn, deep crimson in color. It was spooled with what looked to be about 1,000 yards of thick braided line. Looked to be about a 9/0 and measured about 8 inches across. The rod that the reel was mounted to was brand new; still had the price tag and plastic around...
